Our Mission

 

Advantage Management, located in the bustling River North district of Chicago, Illinois, proudly manages over 135 Community Associations in the City of Chicago and the surrounding suburbs. Our client-oriented and personal-touch style is what separates us from the rest. We customize our professional management services for our individual client properties so they are able to utilize any or all of our resources depending on their management goals and financial needs. With our interactive management approach, we are available to listen to the needs, goals, and desires of our Boards of Directors and each Homeowner. Advantage Management manages its client properties in accordance with the Illinois Condominium Property Act The Common Interest Community Association Act and Not-For-Profit Act. We encourage ongoing education for our Property Managers through Community Associations Institute and require all Property Managers to be licensed.

Accreditations

Advantage Management is one of a small handful of property management companies with the distinguished honor of earning the “AACM” (Accredited Association Management Company) in the state of Illinois.  The Community Association Institute (CAI) created this accreditation to differentiate property management companies who provide a unique and diverse service and ensures that their staff have the skills, experience, and integrity to help communities succeed.

The Accredited Association Management Company (AAMC) credential is a seminal corporate achievement, but it’s more than a singular accomplishment. It’s a mindset, an attitude and an ongoing commitment that inspires superior performance and company-wide professionalism. It symbolizes a corporate culture that is based on knowledge, expertise, customer service, and integrity. 

Partnering with Advantage Management as an AAMC is an affirmation that your association board is firmly committed to meeting their fiduciary responsibilities to the association and its members.

Management Team

Adam Stolberg

President

CMCA, AMS, PCAM

Mr. Stolberg has a Bachelors of Science degree in Agricultural Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.  In 1999, Stolberg co-founded Advantage Management. Mr. Stolberg has helped grow the firm from one condominium client to over 125 condominium, homeowner, townhome, cooperative, commercial, and apartment rental properties in the City of Chicago and surrounding suburbs, servicing over 8,000 units.  Mr. Stolberg oversees all aspects of the firm on a daily basis. He is a member of CAI and has earned his CMCA, AMS, and PCAM designations. Mr. Stolberg is very active in the community and is serving a second term as a City Councilman for the City of Highland Park, where he has been a lifelong resident.

Neal Shamis

Chief Operating Officer

CMCA, AMS

Mr. Shamis has a Bachelors of Science degree in Business from Indiana University. He has over thirty-five years’ experience in real estate brokerage and property management. He began his real estate career with Martin & Marbry in the early 1980s. During this period Mr. Shamis also spent time in the financial markets in securities and derivatives trading both options and futures at both the Chicago Board of Trade and The Chicago Board Options Exchange. In 1999, Mr. Shamis co-founded Advantage Management. Utilizing his strong financial background and organizational talents, Mr. Shamis has helped build Advantage Management into a local player in the property management field. During 2003, Mr. Shamis formed Advantage Properties Chicago to fill a need generated by the management company for real estate brokerage. Advantage Properties has brokered and closed numerous deals for their clients since its inception. Mr. Shamis holds both CMCA and AMS designations from CAI.

Jeremy Stolberg

Senior Vice President

CMCA

Mr. Stolberg has a Bachelors of Arts degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Mr. Stolberg owned a promotional events company centered on business development from 1997-2000. From there he moved on to be a part of a start-up team for a technology company with ownership of a patent in the wireless industry, focusing on their business development and growth. Upon the sale of the business, Mr. Stolberg formed an insurance brokerage where he managed insurance and investments for clients as well as headed the investor relations department for a local luxury home builder. Mr. Stolberg oversees Business Development as well as the insurance program for Advantage Management. He maintains his Property and Casualty Insurance licenses in several states and also holds his CMCA designation from CAI.

Amber Socas

Director of Operations

Ms. Socas has a degree in the Arts and previously was the head event planner for a prominent hospitality facility in Chicago. Ms. Socas has worked in property management since 2007 and joined Advantage in 2009. Her day-to-day focus is operations of the business and a personal interaction with clients and vendors. She oversees all new property transitions dealing closely with the association to ensure a smooth transition. In addition, she works closely with the owners to set company policies as well as oversees the administrative staff.

Michael Rupert

Director of Accounting

MAFM, BSBA

Mr. Rupert has earned a Bachelor’s of Science and Business Administration from DeVry University. He has also obtained a Master’s degree in Accounting and Financial Management from Devry University. Mr. Rupert is currently sitting for his C.P.A. From 1996 – 2000 Mr. Rupert served in The United States Navy earning the rank of OS3 before his honorable discharge. Mr. Rupert has been with Advantage since 2012 and has worked in the property management industry for 14years.

I am already mourning the loss of those gorgeous summer flowers, as we enter fall, but am so excited to see what next spring and summer brings. I don't know if you can outdo yourself.
